The Pit

I started off in terrible shape. I was stuck at the back of my planets and all of them around Home World were very low in ag. I managed to trick, making Slime Pit a builder while colonizing Waste Dump. The pop growth was agonizingly slow from there though.

I considered tricking again right away to turn Waste Dump into a builder, but it was a good thing I didn't because I met Bugs the next turn. Luckily she had even worse position than me so our economies were even. We both explored the cluster of planets in the middle but couldn't capitalize on them. Bugs did colonize three of them, but they never got big. She eventually turned Forsythia into a builder, so I realized that being able (or not) to nuke it would probably decide the game.

Minor skirmishes showed me that I had reached BR-3 first, so I moved a fleet over Forsythia and then stargated in a few more to cover the nuke the next turn. It worked and I destroyed the planet. I slid a sci past and managed to get it deep into Bug's territory. After moving my fleet to nuke Daisy, Tuilip, and 17,20 Bugs conceded and allowed my exploring sci to take the nuke.
